Mark Nickel began his career over 30 years ago with Aetna as an Assistant Bond Manager in Surety Operations. In 1983, he joined Fred S. James as Bond Manager, eventually moving to Marsh, Inc. in 1987, where he ultimately rose to the level of Senior Vice-President, leading Surety and Middle Market for Upstate NY.

Mark came to R&K in 1994 to launch the operations in Western NY. He then returned to Marsh in 2002 to serve as Chairman Global Surety Practice, before returning to Rose & Kiernan in 2008 to lead R&K’s Western NY operations as Construction Practice Leader and member of the Executive Committee.

Mark graduated from Bryant University in Smithfield, RI with a BS in Marketing and Finance. He’s been active in community and professional organizations, serving as past Board member of the General Builders and Contractors of NY, Construction Financial Management Association.

Mark is currently a Member of AGC, NASBP, CFMA, and an active member of the Surety Committee of the AGC of America. He’s also active in fund raising for the Wilmot Cancer Center and Advent House in Rochester, NY.
