Farmers’ Market Season Has Kicked Off in New York State

Farmers’ markets offer fresh food at a reasonable price while also supporting a healthy lifestyle, the local economy and the environment. Recently, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced the launch of peak farmers’ market season across New York state. There are over 700 locations that provide people with access to fresh, locally grown and produced food and beverages. Farmers markets are also vibrant community gathering places filled with events that promote a healthy lifestyle such as cooking demonstrations, fitness activities, gardening lessons and health screenings.

Last year, NewYorkUpstate.com ranked the 25 best farmers’ markets in Upstate New York spread across various counties.
